NBM of Africa Worldwide has held its South-South Regional Summit with the theme “Education for the Girl Child and Exterminating Mathematics Phobia in Our Schools” in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

Dignitaries were present and prizes given to the pupils who emerged first, second and third in the grand finale of the Secondary Schools Mathematics Competition held on the same day.

Guest speakers made very interesting presentations/lectures in line with the theme of the summit.

Those who spoke at the event included Eze Dr. Mrs. Chinyere Precious (Special Adviser to Abia State Governor on Health Matters) as well as Dr. Mrs. Rafiat Bada Abubakar, Executive Member of Mathematics Society of Nigeria and a consultant.

Guest speaker Abubakar delivered a presentation on “Exterminating Mathematics Phobia in our Schools.”

Chinyere Precious, also a guest speaker, spoke on “The Role of Public - Private Partnership in Building Society.”

The various government and private secondary school pupils who participated in the competition were accompanied by their teachers and they were all thrilled as the winners went home with different cash prizes while others got various gifts items.

The summit was the first of its kind organized by the South-South Regional President Engr. E. Oyibo and Secretary Chief D. Nkanga as well as its other leaders/stakeholders.

A statement said that NBM of Africa Worldwide was positively contributing to the growth of the educational system by sponsorship of programmes and events beneficial to pupils and students of schools.

The South-South Region of NBM of Africa Worldwide pledged to do more in the future.
